At the moment, anyway, very few liberals are willing to voice any
concerns whatsoever over Barack Obama…if, indeed, they even have any.

Camille Paglia does, and she is. Jill Stanek helps…

Pro-abort columnist Camille Paglia wrote a great piece
in liberal Salon magazine yesterday, joining the growing list of
Obama-supporting journalists writing morning after confessionals.

Paglia admires Obama. But…

In the closing weeks of the election, however, I became
increasingly disturbed by the mainstream media’s avoidance of
forthright dealing with several controversies that had been dogging
Obama — even as every flimsy rumor about Sarah Palin was being
trumpeted as if it were engraved in stone on Mount Sinai.

And after quite a rundown of specific issues that disturb her about those controversies, she turns to the subject of Palin.

Paglia’s bold, brave thoughts on Palin, who “as a
pro-life wife, mother and ambitious professional represents the next
big shift in feminism,” come near the end.

She sees Palin as a “populist phenomenon.” Read the whole piece. We
haven’t heard such forthright commentary out of just about any
observer, especially liberal celebrities.

Or such intellectual honesty.
