Andrew Smith is a Lecturer in Networking at The Open University in the UK. He is also:
A 'somewhat' geek(y) academic, author and senior examiner with a background in 'infrastructure' Networking, as well as some programming that is getting a bit dated. A dabbler in network security (cybersecurity) and social media integration. My main academic focus is on Cisco technologies as part of the Cisco Academy programme.
Amongst my other professional interests, I campaign on the need for greater 'industry' relevance of computing qualifications in the UK and am developing a 'teach by tweet' project. When it comes to research, I am working on some network simulation projects.
