David van Gend is a family doctor in Toowoomba, Queensland, and a frequent contributor to debates on family, faith and freedom. He has briefed MPs in state and federal parliament and, in 2006, a group of US Senators. As president of the Australian Marriage Forum he wrote the best-selling book, ‘Stealing from a Child: The Injustice of Marriage Equality’. He and his wife Jane have three adult sons.
