Declan Fahy has been a full-time faculty member in SOC’s journalism division since 2010. His research examines scientists as celebrities and public intellectuals, and new methods and models of science journalism. He is the author of The New Celebrity Scientists: Out of the Lab and Into the Limelight (Rowman & Littlefield, 2015). His scholarship has been published in journals including Journalism, Journalism Studies, Nature Chemistry, Science Communication, BMC Medical Ethics, Health Promotion Practice and Irish Communications Review. Before becoming an academic, he worked as a reporter and feature writer for The Longford Leader, Irish Daily Mirror and The Irish Times. His recent journalism has appeared at the Columbia Journalism Review and The Scientist.
