Martino Diez is scientific director of the Oasis International Foundation and researcher in Arabic Language and Literature at the Catholic University of Milan.
After graduating in Oriental Languages and Civilizations from Ca' Foscari University of Venice, he earned his PhD in Oriental Studies from the same university with a thesis entitled: The Representation of Power in Medieval Islam. The case of the Sayfiyyāt by Abū ’ṭ-Ṭayyib al-Mutanabbī. In 2007-2008 he was post-doctoral researcher at Ca' Foscari University and from 2008 to 2016 he was lecturer in Arabic Language at the Catholic University of Milan.
He is a member of the study commission on radicalization and jihadi extremism established by the Italian Government (Presidency of the Council of Ministers) in September 2016.

He also took part in the review of the Arabic translation of the catecheses by Benedict XVI on Saint Paul (Bûlus ar-Rasûl, al-Maktaba al-Bûlusiyya / Marcianum Press, Jounieh - Venice 2010) and on prayer (Rabbi, ‘allim-nâ an-nusallî, al-Maktaba al-Bûlusiyya / Marcianum Press, Jounieh - Venice 2012).
He has been working in Oasis since 2004 and has been its scientific director since 2009.
