Today is Chick-fil-A (“Eat mor chikin”) Appreciation Day in the United States and I can’t resist this follow-up to earlier posts (here and here) on the row that flared up when the company’s president last week confirmed his support for marriage based on traditional Biblical principles.
In the face of gay outrage and threats by some politicians to keep Chick-fil-A stores out of their jurisdictions, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee called for a nationwide show of support for Cathy and his right to free speech on Wednesday. On his Facebook event page more than 600,000 people indicated they were going to act on the invitation.
Photos sent to the National Organisation for Marriage suggest they were as good as their word. The one at the top of this post shows a U-shaped queue at San Marcos, California, where it took hours to get in.
