A New Zealand parliamentary select committee hearing submissions on a bill to allow gay “marriage” has received 20,000 written submisisons (yea and nay) and a petition with 72,000 signatures affirming:  I support the definition of marriage in New Zealand being maintained as one man one woman. I oppose any attempt to redefine it.” (Total NZ population 4.4 million.)

Media coverage of testimony by Bob McCoskrie, National Director of Family First NZ, has led to many more requests to sign up, he says. “We’re still aiming for 100,000 and we’ll be collecting signatures until the issue is resolved – one way or the other.”

New Zealanders can sign the petition here http://www.protectmarriage.org.nz/sign-the-petition
