Marriage advice from twice-divorced, chronically confused-and-controversial Madonna? Some of this is just too funny, almost beyond parody (but I’ll sure give it my best shot). I think I need something light after pondering things like the horror of infanticide and the fall of western civilization.
“Unfortunately we are raised on those fairytales and even if we are sophisticated, educated, intellectually evolved human beings we still, in the back of our mind, think that Mr. Right is going to come along and we are going to live happily ever after,” she continued. “In the front of our minds we keep getting reminded it’s not true and in the back of our minds we keep thinking it’s true so we keep getting disappointed. It’s a paradox – you want it, but if you have half a brain you know it doesn’t really exist.”
Um, OK, so I’ve been happily married to the same wonderful man for 25 years because I’m missing part of my brain and I’m not “intellectually evolved”.
She explained that the search for “Mr. Right” is daunting. […] But is the singer’s current flame, 24-year-old French dancer Brahim Zaibat, the one?
Oh Lord, hold me back…
And she dated a guy named Jesus. I can’t believe she didn’t marry him just for the headlines it would have caused…
Maybe I can make it a teachable moment by stressing that marriage is not a fairy tale…happily ever after: it involves work, commitment, sacrifice, and sometimes suffering.
