Style blogging isn’t just for the millenials who grew up in the age of technology. Now women of all ages are getting into style blogging. There are blogs for women over 45, 50, 55, 60, etc… Each blog tries to preach a similar message – embrace your age and dress well! And leading that trend is Ari Seth Cohen, founder of the blog Advanced Style.

The blog, which is presented very simply, features women (and some men) of a ‘certain age.’ In Cohen’s own words… “I roam the streets of New York looking for the most stylish and creative older folks. Respect your elders and let these ladies and gents teach you a thing or two about living life to the fullest. Advanced Style offers proof from the wise and silver-haired set that personal style advances with age.” (Photo from advancedstyle)

I love his street-style blog. It proves that there is no age limit when it comes to dressing with style and personal expression. The gentlemen featured are dapper. The women are stylish while respecting their age and not attempting to appear years younger than they are.

Cohen also conducts short interviews often pulling out small snipets of wisdom from those photographed. For instance, Lynn Dell from New York’s Upper East Side said this about dressing, “I don’t want to look younger. I just want to look as wonderful as I can.”

I want to have this mantra as I age – doing do gracefully and as wonderfully as I can.

Cohen has a book coming out this May, which is a collection of the photos that have appeared on the blog and ones he has taken on the city streets.
