By now, you can probably tell that I am a little bit of a Mac addict, so when rumors began circulating about the new iPhone coming out this summer I kept my radar up. Speculation has been circling for months about what the newest generation will have on it. What will make it different from the previous iPhones. Every one has an opinion. No one has facts.
And then, WHAM! someone claims they actually have a prototype of the new iPhone. And it was found on a barstool in a German bar near San Francisco, CA. Oops. That means the public gets to view this new iPhone 4G at least 2 months early, which is a lot considering how typically closed-mouthed Apple is about all their projects. No one knew really what the iPad was going to look like or be capable of until CEO Steve Jobs made the announcement and displayed the product. The person who dropped it must be kicking himself for literally letting the cat out of the bag.
Gizmodo, a technology blog, got a hold of this iPhone prototype and took it apart piece by piece to find out what’s different. The new iPhone has a front facing camera for video chat and it has a built-in flash. It runs on a new operating system too. You can read all the specifications here. There is, however, some speculation that Gizmodo paid someone in order to get the exclusive sneak peak and break the story.
Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that my cell phone carrier will start selling the iPhone. Please, oh please, PLEASE.
